Annotated: Thank for further [duplicate].
The enclosed Lycopodium, dear Sir Joseph, was sent to me as distinct from L. Phlegmaria by Mr Bailey. It seems to me very doubtful whether it can be regarded as anything more than an extremely robust form of that species. But as I am still working away from my office at Dr Büttner’s mansion,

Alexander Büttner.
I have neither the material for comparison readily available, nor Mr Baker’s essays on accessible. Perhaps you would give me your or his opinion on this particular plant. I hope Mr Bakers writings on the can appear in a connected form; it is very inconvenient to use them in their present scattered state of publication.
Regardfully your

The sheet is annotated below M's signature:
In J.G. Baker's hand: This precisely agrees with a typical specimen of the Lycopodium phlegmaroides of Gaudichaud, figured Freycin. Voyage t. 23 [Freycinet & Gaudichaud (1826-30), text p. 281, Atlas, t. 23] but it is scarcely I think worth separating specifically from Phlegmaria. We have several specimens just like to from Fiji; Gaudichaud's type is from Rawak. J. G. Baker Kew herb. Oct 15 1884.
In D. Oliv er 's hand: house for Kew.
