Pardonnez moi le retard a repondre et vous remercier pour le double envoyé des algues sèches, celles envoyées directement au ministère de la marine et les autres que Mr. Agard de Lund vient de m'envoyer — croyez à ma parfaite reconnaissance pour un si précieux cadeau — Dans ce temps j'ai [ici] Mr. le Colonel Cesati fils de feu Mr le Baron Cesati, et il m'a fait croire que le gouvernement Italien fera l'acquisition de [sa] collection.

J'espère que vous sucederez bientot à executer votre projet de visiter notre pays, et avoir ainsi l'occasion de vous remercier personellement de votre courtoisie à mon égard.

Excuse my delay in replying and thanking you for the double sending of dried algae, those sent directly to the Navy Ministry and the others that Mr Agard from Lund

J. Agardh.

has just sent me. Be assured of my profound gratitude for such a precious gift. At present, I have here Colonel Cesati, son of the late Baron Cesati, and he leads me to believe that the Italian Government will acquire [his] collection.

I hope you will soon succeed in your project of visiting our country, and thus to have the opportunity of thanking you personally for your courtesy towards me.
