Baron von Mueller
Sir
Will you be so good as to inform me to what class of grasses the enclosed specimen
belongs,
if it has a particular name and if it is an indigenous or an imported grass.
3
The specimen is also included in the file.
It is good feed while young but the seed when ripe is fatal to sheep by penetrating
through the skin into the flesh
This grass is common around Melbourne and has during the last few years made its appearance
on the Murray River
I have the honor to remain
your Obt Servant
Robert McFarland
