26/9/83.
This morning, dear Prof. Tate, your plants of the last trip arrived. Eyre's Creek is the last watercourse, reached by Capt Sturt in his famous great Expedition into Central Australia. It is in Queensland but so very near the S.A. boundary, that the plants from thence count for both colonies.
Your plants are:
, F.v.M.
— I have a heap of suppl. specimens to examine, on which occasion I shall revise the species. At least 3 occur in S.A.
. Very possibly distinct from H. corymbiflorum
: Wants critical study.
Needs careful comparison. Some Loranths are extraordinarily variable. The specific name I would advise to change.

See notes to M to R. Tate, 17 October 1883.
Centrolepis aristata, R. &. S. var. pygmaea
. Seems quite new.
, to be examined.
Tate. I will dissect it carefully; very interesting indeed
= Vahl.
. Already in the original description (fr. ll) I alluded to the hairiness.

M described Synostemon rigens in Fragmenta, vol. 2, p. 153 (B61.05.02); it was later removed by Jean Müller to Phyllanthus.
Ranunculus = R. parviflorus, var
; the spec. of difficult discrimination unless from specimens with ripe seeds.
