Es ist recht erfreulich, geehrter Herr Professor, dass sich das Resultat der Untersuchung von Prof. Wilson's Pflanzen so günstig herausstellt, u. so ist es mir um so angenehmer, dass ich ihn anfeuerte zum extensiven Algensammeln, während er mit dem Schleppnetz in der Ferienzeit an der Mündung der Pt Phillip Bai nach Polyzoen suchte.

Wenn einmal aus den verschiedenen Sendungen von hier etwas abzulassen ist, bitte ich Sie, es durch den italienischen Consul an den Admiral Acton in Neapel zu senden, dem ich mittheilte, dass Sie gelegentlich aus meinen Materalien seine Sammlung bereichern würden.

It is very pleasing, esteemed Professor, that the results of the investigation of Professor Wilson's plants proved so favourable, and so it is all the more pleasing to me that I spurred him on to extensive collecting of algae, while he looked for polyzoa with the drag net at the mouth of Port Phillip Bay during the holidays.

If ever something is to be left out of the various consignments from here, I ask you to send it through the Italian consul to Admiral Acton in Naples, whom I informed that you would enrich his collection from time to time from my material.
