Ich bin Ihnen wieder sehr verpflichtet, edler Freund, für die Auskunft, welche Sie uns über mehrere Algen-Sendungen gegeben haben. Mr Bracebridge Wilson ist fort auf einer Ferien-Reise. Er wird sich besonders freuen, dass er ein neues Genus entdeckt, und dass Sie seinen Namen specifisch damit verbunden haben.
Es ist auch besonders dankenswerth, dass Sie so viele Exemplare zurück-senden, aber ich bitte Sie besonders, ja irgend specimina zurück zu behalten, welche Interesse für Sie haben mögen, und für Ihre eigne Sammlung werthvoll sind.
Es ist viel besser, dass seltne Algen-Exemplare in die Sammlung des grössten Kenners über gehen, als dass solche zu uns zurück-kommen.

I am again very obliged to you, noble Friend, for the information that you have given us about several consignments of algae. Mr Bracebridge Wilson is away on a holiday journey. He will be particularly pleased that he has discovered a new genus and that you have connected his name with it specifically.

See M to J. Agardh, 1 January 1883, where he acknowledged the list of identifications, namely J. Agardh to M, November 1882 (in this edition as 82-11-00a). The new genus and species collected by J. B. Wilson at Port Phillip Heads was published in Agardh (1873-90), part 5, p. 67 as Callipsygma wilsonis .
It is also particularly commendable that you return so many specimens, but I ask you particularly to retain any specimens that may have interest for you and are valuable for your own collection.
It is much better that rare specimens of algae pass into the collection of the greatest specialist , than that they come back to us.
