Document is a circular sent to six sub-departments within the Chief Secretary's Department.
Sir,
I beg to inform you that a Royal Commission has been appointed to manage all matters
in connection with the representation of this Colony at the International Exhibition
to be held in Calcutta in 1883-4, and that the Chief Secretary is very desirous that
the various Departments in this division of the Service should be represented at the
Exhibition as fully as may be found practicable.
As the Exhibition opens on the 1st December next your are requested to report at your
earliest convenience whether you consider that your Department can be beneficially
represented at it, and if so, in what respect and to what extent.
A copy of the prospectus issued by the President of the Commission is forwarded herewith
for your information.
