I gladly fall in with your views, dear Prof. Tate, that the is really indigenous there. I thought Golden-grove was near Holdfast-Bay.

SA. In M to R. Tate, 27 October 1881, M gave reasons that it might be an immigrant from WA, including the possibility that it was introduced with emballage at a port. Contrary to M's earlier belief, Golden Grove is not on the coast but is some miles inland, approximately 22 km north-east of Adelaide.

If I do send anything, it will be short notes, and they shall be with you in time. I presume, that you proceed to Kangaroo Island. I quite longed for it myself for years; but it was not accessible to me readily at my time. When there, kindly look also for , only known from there.

M to R. Tate, 3 November 1881 contains the same request.
Bonplands figure is from a young Garden-plant; leaves and umbels & fruit bring it near Euc. rostrata, but the lid is very obtuse, and the lower leaves are ovate & opposite, whereas so far as I am aware, E. rostrata has the opposite leaves of young plants very narrow.
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller
I have still some critical plants unnamed (as regards exact species) from Rev Mr Kempe, but they must stand over til next year. There is no cause for hurry either.
