See P. O'Shanesy to M, 17 August 1881.
but as I have already remarked it is evidently different from the one found by me on the Drummond Range.

Qld.
I enclose fragments of a Crinum about which I am not satisfied. There are evidently two distinct species found in the neighbourhood of Rockhampton which I believe are confounded under C. asiaticum , the ordinary species is found chiefly in sandy soils, and the enclosed one is entirely confined to the mud in the Fitzroy river and the saltwater creeks running into it, and is never found beyond the influence of the salt water; the bulb is produced into a thick stem of two to three feet, the plant growing to a hight of four feet, the flowers are sessile and number twenty to thirty in the umbell enclose a flower part of leaf and a floral bract.
Yours Sincerely
P. A. O'Shanesy
