Dear Von Mueller
I enclose Oliver's note
about the Acacia, our Brunonian specimens of
deltoidea
are miserable. We are now overhauling a whole heap of Brown's unarranged plants to
complete our set, & are putting aside the first set of duplicates for you. Brown's
collections were
enormous
, it is marvellous what he did in that little ship! — incredible. — After the Brit.
Mus. had sent us the set intended for us by Bennett, it sent a further load, & it
is this latter we are now sorting & selecting from previous to distribution.

Daniel Oliver's note not found. See M's request in M to J. Hooker, 17 April 1881.

M acknowledged Hooker's news about the specimens collected by Robert Brown (1773-1858)
in M to J. Hooker, 29 July 1881, and then acknowledged receipt of five cases of Brown's plants in M to J. Hooker,
22 May 1882 (in this edition as 82-05-22a) and M to J. Hooker, 29 May 1882. 'Bennett' is J. J. Bennett.
The Cycad will be most acceptable to Dyer
— who is perfecting our Cycad Herbm & living collection indefatigably. We should
be thankful for flat-dried fronds, old & young, of any Cycads & especially of this
new one. Dyer is forming a Herbarium collection on large paper to which contributions
will be most acceptable — the size is 2 x 1¾ ft.

Our collection of drawings is also very complete, & of the photographs also
Very sincerely yr
