Wie ich einige Ihrer noch unbenannten Pflanzen untersuchte, lieber Herr Holtze, finde ich dass Ihre N. 123 aus Südamerika ist. Können Sie mir weitere Auskunft über den Standort bei Ihnen geben. Kann die Pflanze in Ihren Garten zuerst eingeführt und dann verwildert sein? Unter welchen Verhältnissen kommt sie dort vor?

As I examined some of your still unnamed plants, dear Mr Holtze, I find that your No. 123 is from South America.

See M to M. Holtze, 1880 (in this edition os 80-00-00g), where collection number 123 is identified as Commersonia, but without a full identification. M noted Holtze's record of this species in B81.08.03, p. 115 'reperiebatur in vicinia portus Darwinii a cl. Holtze' [found in the vicinity of Port Darwin by the illustrious Holtze].

Can you give me further information about the location there? Could the plant have been first introduced into your Gardens and then run wild? Under what conditions does it occur there?
