I was much pleased, dear Professor Henriques, with your interesting lists of cryptogamic
plants of Portugal.
Meanwhile you will have received my lists of Acotyledoneae of Australia, nearly 3000
species.
I have also forwarded to you by this post the last edition of my "Select plants".
If a Portuguese translation could be brought out, I should give the permission gratuitously,
and could furnish some additional manuscript notes.
The book ought to be very useful in Portugal, and ought also to sell well in Brazil,
particularly there in the southern and in the higher mountain-regions. In all probability
the Government of Portugal and of Brazil would purchase a number of copies for their
public institutions of forests &c
