MS annotation by Tepper: 'Reply 11.4.80 with paper on habits of large Stigm. [i.e. the Buprestid beetle Stigmodera] on Mallee'. Letter not found. Tepper (1878) mentions a species of the beetle among those increasing on Eucalypts, but it does not address the specific questions M asked. Tepper (1878a) is a paper on a swarming beetle defoliating Eucalypts, but that concerns a Scarab, not a Buprestid.
