Hiermit sende ich Ihnen die Liste Ihrer Pflanzen, lieber Herr Landsmann. Kennen Sie jemand im Beda-Country, der mir ein blühendes u fruchttragendes Exemplar des "Beda-thorn" senden würde (zu Post). Ich werde Sie in der L.S. mit nächster Post vorschlagen. Ihre Werke können Sie nach Ihrer Wahl senden

who would send me (per post) a flowering and fruit bearing specimen of the "Beda thorn". I will propose you for the Linnean Society with the next mail.

Tepper evidently sent M's letter to a friend, since it bears a MS annotation by him: 'P.S. Von bedeutenden Männer sieht man gern Portraits ud. Handschriften, so sende ich Ihnen dieses Blatt als Probe der Letzteren. Haben Sie vielleicht eine Idee wo "Beda Country" ist? Auf meinen Karten kommt es nicht vor. [P.S. One gladly sees portraits and handwriting of significant men, so I send you this sheet as a sample of the latter. Have you perhaps an idea where "Beda country" is?
