My dear Sir
You will receive by this mail the sheets completing the 6th vol. of the Flora
1
i.e. Bentham (1863-78), vol. 6.
— they have been printed off this fortnight and the bound copies ought to be ready by this time The publishers have the usual order to send off the 30 copies for your Government — I have not heard of their being actually sent yet, but if not they will be in a day or two
I have to thank you for yours of the 15th July — You propose to suppress the names of and because they are not good names but there is nothing absolutely false in them and a name having no meaning is not admitted as a sufficient reason for changing it — and as to Novæ Hollandiæ very many species are named after countries which contain several others of the same genus —
You say you miss and I was not aware that either had been found in Australia There were no specimens amongst your nor any in our Australian herbaria — nor can I find any record of their being found in Australia — You will have to insert them in the first supplemental volume you publish

In M to G. Bentham, 15 July 1873 (in this edition as 73-07-15a), M reported having sent specimens of these genera; in B74.03.01, p. 141, he reported that they are found at Rockingham Bay.
With regard to the materials for the 7th volume it will be quite time enough if they are sent off next spring — Should anything occur to oblige me to defer it still later or to give it up altogether I will take care to let you know
Believe me
Ever yours sincerely
George Bentham
Baron von Mueller
