1
Sailed 30 January 1873 ( Notebook recording despatch of plants for Flora Australiensis, RB, MSS M44, Library, Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne). Bentham to M, 15 May 1873 (in this edition as 73-05-15a) reported that Hampshire had not by then arrived; the safe arrival of the material iwas reported n G. Bentham to M, 3 June 1873.
dear Mr Bentham, my Agent unfortunately omitted here to send a memorandum to you or to Dr Hooker. The monthly mail had just left and so the case may be already in London before this letter reaches you. A Glass case was also sent.
Capt Ridgers promised to take charge of both, but I have no bill of loading & the consignments is also not placed on the Ship's manifest. Thus it may get lost altogether, unless indeed the Kew Agent will look at once after it. The case for you contains with adnate fruits.
Your very regardful
Ferd. von Mueller
