I have the honor by the direction of the Hon W. M. K. Vale to acknowledge your letter
to him of the 5th inst[.]
Mr Vale desires me to thank you for your courtesy in complying with what you believe
to be his wishes on the subject, but to assure you that he never expressed a desire
that you would place in the Industrial Museum the medals which have been awarded to
you.
