Ich übersah es, verehrter Herr Professor, Ihnen mit letzter Post zu schreiben, dass mit dem Schiffe Wellesley am 26 März eine grosse Kiste an Sie adressirt an meine Londoner Agenten, Messrs. Betham & Blackitt spedirt wurde. Diese Kiste enthält 73 Vögelbälge u 15 präpar. Marsupialthiere als Gegengabe für ihr Museum von dem unsern. Als Privat Geschenk für das Stockholmer Museum sende ich ein Prachtexemplar des riesigen Crossorhinus barbatus. Die Zwischenräume sind mit Algen ausgefüllt. Es finden sich noch mancherlei Kleinigkeiten in der Kiste. Die Fracht bis London is berichtigt.

Über Ihre wunderschönen schwedischen Pflanzen habe ich mich recht gefreut. Sie sind eine Zierde meines Museums.

Ich habe nach Kew gesandt. Die Pflanze würde vortrefflich sich als im Norden Schwedens verwenden lassen.

I overlooked, esteemed Professor, to write to you with the last mail that a large case, addressed to you, was dispatched by the ship Wellesley on 26 March to my London agents, Messrs Betham & Blackitt.

This case contains 73 bird skins and 15 prepared marsupials as a reciprocal gift for your Museum from ours. I am sending as a private gift a magnificent specimen of the giant Crossorhinus barbatus for the Stockholm Museum. The gaps have been filled up with algae. In addition there are all sorts of odds and ends in the case. The freight to London has been paid.

Your exquisitely beautiful Swedish plants have given me much pleasure. They are an ornament of my museum.

I have sent to Kew. The plant would be excellent for use in place of in northern Sweden.
