Dear friend,
I have subscribed with pleasure for 5 copies of your beautiful landscape (or glacier) atlas.

John Gully had executed water colour paintings based o n Haast’s sketches and had issued a prospectus from Day and Son in London, who planned to issue 12 chromolithographs bound together 'and issued at a very moderate price to subscribers, if a hundred are found for the work' ('Gully's New Zealand Scenery', Lyttelton times , 25 February 1865, p. 4). See Haast (1864) for an account of the region illustrated by these sketches. Publication did not proceed. See Paul (1978).
Shall I send the sum to you? It would be best, if the amount were to be paid in advance.
