Hochgeehrtester Herr!

Ihnen ebenso für die uns zugesandten Saamen dankend habe ich gleichzeitig die Ehre, Ihnen anzuzeigen, dass die I. naturforschende Gesellschaft in Moskau Sie auf meinen Vorschlag in ihrer gestrigen Sitzung zu ihrem activen Mitgliede ernannt hat. — Ich ersuche Sie, mir gefälligst anzugeben, auf welche Weise ich Ihnen später das Diplom zukommen lassen kann. Es würde unsere I. Gesellschaft sehr erfreuen, wenn Sie uns die ersten 3 Bände Ihrer Fragmenta zusendeten. — Ueberhaupt würden Sie uns sehr verbinden, wenn Sie uns Naturalien u selbst Ethnographicae zukommen liessen. — Letztere kämem jetzt namentlich sehr angenehm, da im Frühjahre 1867 eine ethnographische Ausstellung in Moskau statt finden wird, wo es natürlich sehr wünschenswerth sei, auch Australien vertreten zu sehen. — In der jetzt schon bestehenden ethnographischen Section des hiesigen öffentlichen Museums, die unter meiner Direction steht, habe ich auch rein gar nichts aus Australien. — Auch Schädel der dortigen Eingeborenen wären uns sehr wichtig. —

Unsere Bitte Ihnen empfehlend u einige Zeilen Antwort von Ihnen erwartend habe ich die Ehre in willigster Hochachtung zu sein

It would greatly please our Imperial Society if you could send us the three earlier volumes of your Fragmenta. Generally speaking, we should be much obliged if you could supply us with natural history specimens and even ethnographic objects. The latter would be very appropriate just now as an ethnographic exhibition will be held in Moscow during the spring of 1867 and it would, of course, be very desirable to see Australia represented too. In the already existing ethnographic section of the public museum here, which is under my direction, I have absolutely nothing from Australia. Skulls of the natives there would be very important to us.
