Ich schreibe eilig hauptsächlich um Sie von der Absendung einer kl

kleinen.

Kiste mit Dahlien, Ixien u andern Zwiebeln oder Knollen u einer Sendung Samen (160 Sp. in klein. 40 in grössten Mengen) zu unterrichten. Diese Sachen gehen heute an Sie ab, die Samen sind separat gesandt in einem Wachstuch-Umschlag u für Ihre Acclimations Gesellschaft bestimmt. Eine umfassendere Sendung kann nach nächster Erndte folgen.

Noch lassen Sie mich die beiden Herrn Travers grüssen. Sie werden finden dass ich die Gelgenheit wahrnahm bei der Bearbeitung der Chatham Flora critisch auf die Untersuchung gattungsverwandter Pflanzen anderer Erd Striche einzugehen, u so wird die kleine Abhandlung im weiten Kreise hoffentlich wichtig werden u nicht bloss einseitig einen Appendix zur Flora Neu Seelands bilden. Dr Hooker's u meine Ansichten über die Grenzen der Species Ihrer Insel sind oft im höchsten Grade abweichend. Stets mit tiefer Freundschaft

I am writing in haste, mainly to notify you of the dispatch of a small box with s and s and other bulbs or tubers, and a small consignment of seeds (160 species in smaller quantity, 40 species in larger quantity). These articles are dispatched to you today , the seeds are sent separately, wrapped in an envelope of oil-cloth, destined for your Acclimatisation Society. A more comprehensive consignment can follow after the next harvest.

Permit me to send my regards to the two Mr Travers. You will find that in the work on the Chatham Flora

I have taken the opportunity to comment critically on the investigation of generically related plants in other regions, and I hope that the little publication will thus become important in wide circles, and will not just form an appendix to the Flora of New Zealand.
