Melbourne bot. Garden,
25/1/64.
My dear Mr Bentham.
I beg to enclose a few additional notes to my print on the Victorian e.
1
e is marked with a cross. The 'print' is presumably the sheets of the entries in the planned second volume of Plants indigenous to the colony of Victoria that were printed but not published (see B63.13.06). The notes have not been identified.
I went this morning to the Governments Office to enquire about the £100 for vol. II.
2
i.e. the Victorian Government’s subvention for Bentham (1863-78), vol. 2.
From the note I sent you written to me by my friend Mr Verdon, the Minister of Finance, I was led to believe that the remittance of the money had been effected.
3
Note not found.
It is however possible, that by some Office error the arrangements have not been completed, a fact which I could not ascertain at the eve of the departure of the mail. If so I will adopt measures that the draft is certainly forwarded by next mail.
With kind regards
yours
Ferd Mueller.
