Melb. bot. Garden,
Thursday 4/6/63.
Dear Euphemia.
I regret being prevented of visiting you and Mr & Mrs M'Haffie this evening, as I do not feel quite well. To morrow evening I have some engagement for scientific work in my house; so I hope to be at least able to see you on Saturday evening, when I will bring the draft of the letter with me, which the Acclimation Council intends to forward to Mr Duffy.

When the Council of the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria met on 9 June 1863, Euphemia Henderson's brother-in-law John McHaffie was in attendance, though not a member of the Council, while the Council discussed and finally agreed to send a letter to Duffy 'upon the reservation of Phillip Island' where McHaffie lived (see the minutes of the meeting in the Society's minute book, unit 3, VPRS 2223, Zoological and Acclimatisation Society of Victoria, Public Record Office, Victoria).
Ever most regardfully
yours
Ferd. Mueller
