My dear Dr. Mueller
I beg to enclose you the account for re-payment of the £10 for the West Australian
plants from your collector Mr. Maxwell,
but as they are no use to the Museum for comparison without the specific determinations
I have had them sent to your office in hope that you would allow your assistant to
add them from your specimens.

Museum account: 'Dr | F Mueller | 18/16/63 Specimens etc. | For 400 specimens of dried
plants from Western Australia collected by Geo. Marshall (sic) | c50/-100 10/0/0. | C.S. 38' (National Museum of Victoria account book, Melbourne
Museum). See also M to F. McCoy, 18 February 1863.
I regret very much to find from yr. note that the determination of the fish I sent
to the Acclimatisation Society was not for you. The large species you enquired about
is the
Sciaena aquila
a not very uncommon species in the Bay.
It and the little spotted dogfish have been added to your donation to the Museum
with many thanks

See M to F. McCoy, 28 January 1863.The fish had been caught in Western Point Bay.
I remain &c
F. McCoy.
