MS black-edged. This is presumably the letter from Barkly that M enclosed with the letter he wrote
to William Hooker on 25 July 1861 (in the edition as 61-07-25a).
24th July 1861
My dear Dr Mueller,
I return your letter to Sir William Hooker.
I think your offer in regard to Mr Bentham's proposed Flora of Australia is most generous
and liberal, & I will give it every support in writing to Sir William.
I am too busy at the moment in preparing for the Mail to say more.
