I have the honor to solicit, that you will be pleased to sanction my absence from
this establishment for a period not exceeding three weeks, for the purpose of proceeding
to Twofold Bay & thence to Cape Howe for carrying on the botanical survey of the south-eastern
part of the Colony.
In case of your Honor's approval of this journey, arrangements will be made for the
uninterrupted progress of the various works in this establishment during my absence.
