Colonial Secretary's Office,
30th June 1860
Sir,
I beg to tender you the thanks of this Government for your kind services, so freely
given, in preparing for the landing and forwarding the Salmon ova, expected per "S.
Curling."
At the same time I have to acquaint you that a letter has been addressed to the Honorable
the Chief Secretary by this Government,
respecting some future arrangements, by a united plan, between the two Governments,
for the importation of a further supply. This communication may perhaps come before
you, and I hope it may meet with your favorable attention.

Two letters were received from the Colonial Secretary, Tasmania. The first asked the
Victorian Government to co-operate in the introduction of salmon, and the second followed
up the introduction of salmon ova (Nos 5590, 7147, vol. 1860 P, VPRS 1168/P, Public
Record Office, Victoria).
