My dear sir
Being at this moment from home on a tour in the West of England Sir William Hooker has kindly forwarded to me your letter of the 15th June. I have no hesitation in saying in reply that from the examination I made of it I considered your as a very distinct genus. At the same time the specimen I saw was a very incomplete one but I believe there are now better ones at Kew from your subsequent sendings
Many thanks for your kind offers of which I may very likely hereafter be tempted to avail myself largely. Sir William Hooker may probably have written to you about the Flora of Australia which I have undertaken to draw up under a Government grant. Shortly after my return to town in October I hope to commence it although I shall have other things on hand which will prevent my giving much time to it this winter
Your paper on s is I believe in the printer's hands but I have not yet seen proofs
