1Letter not found. The item is an extract from a letter from O. G Adamson to W. Hooker, 6 September 1858 (RBG Kew, Directors' correspondence, vol. LXX1V, Australian letters
1851-8, letter no. 5). The extract, enclosed in quotation marks, is preceded by 'We have a letter from Frederick, dated Melbourne 13 June/58'. The
date of M's letter is inferred from the date Frederick Adamson reported receiving
it.
