I have the honor to transmit to you for the public museum a collection of 25 timber specimens, procured by Mr John Walters

i.e. John Watters, whose journey to Sealers Cove took place 24-29 June 1857 at a cost of £23 15s for travelling expenses and freight for the cases of specimens (Unit 3, p. 214, VPRS 973, PROV).
at Sealer's Cove under my order. I beg to recommend, that each specimen should be divided into two longitudinally, to allow the moisture to evaporate more freely, and to prevent the splitting of the specimens.
