It may interest you, dear Dr Hooker, that a second species of your genus Adenochilus has been discovered by Mr J Norton, on a cataract in the Blue Mountains of N.S. Wales, very near to A. gracilis. It is beautifully figured by Mr Fitzgerald for the second part of his "Austr. Orchid

Adenochilus nortoni was described and illustrated in R. Fitzgerald (1875-94), vol. 1, part 2 (publ. 1876), plate [2], and discussed by M in B76.04.03, p. 64. In his account, M says that he has not seen a specimen of A. gracilis but has accepted the distinction between the two species on the basis of Fitch's illustration of this.
Have you a spare specimen of the N.Z. species, so that I can institute an exact comparison.
Regardfully
Ferd. von Mueller.
