MS is a printed notice inserted in a copy of Victoria, Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Council , Session 1850, Bills. In the likely time period, 4 August was a Tuesday only in 1868 and 1874. There is no report of the meeting in the issues of Melbourne's German newspaper, Germania, in July or August 1868, which, especially in view of Item 5 on the agenda, there surely would have been, had the meeting been held then. The notice is therefore dated to 1874, although there was no longer a German newspaper being published in Melbourne to confirm this. Lilienfeld was still in Melbourne at that time; he left Melbourne on Loch Maree on 20 March 1875 (Argus, 22 March 1875, p. 4).
