I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of yesterday

Letter not found, but the file cover on M's letter reveals the subject-matter: 'Ackg receipt of letter re Supplementary Estimates'. Odgers's letter probably informed M that of the funds he requested in M to W. Odgers 2 October 1873 (in this edition as 73-10-02b), only the item providing payment for Bentham (1863-78) was included in the Supplementary Estimates presented to Parliament and approved on 29 October.

and shall not fail to reply fully thereto in the course of this week.

No follow-up letter has been found.
