On 23 June 1873 the Secretary of Agriculture, A. Wallis, stated that he presumed there could be no objection to Tissot's application provided he undertook 'to forward particulars of his proposed test-culture to the Dept of Agric.' The Assistant Commissioner for Crown Lands and Survey, Clement Hodgkinson, concurred with Wallis's opinion on 25 June, and Casey approved their recommendation on 27 June.
