In reply to your letter of the 17th inst.
I have the honor to inform you, that the Hon. the Chief Secretary, on my recommendation,
has approved of the application of the Vict. Hort. Improv. Socy,
to hold a horticultural Exhibition in the Botanic Garden on the 18th March 1871 this
concession being granted on an understanding that the restrictions adopted on form
so similar occasions will be in force. In reference to these and other details I should
be glad to make arrangements with you at my office.
