I am glad, dear Judge Bindon, that the work for the industrial Museum can continue
for an other month in my laboratory, and I will do what is within my power to get
the phytologic section further advanced. If Mr Hoffmann can remain, as now arranged,
under my control, it is will save much time in instructing some one else for the work
to which he is accustomed.
Of course he is not an Officer of my Department, while he is under remuneration of
the technologic commission. Perhaps in the beginning of 1871 other arrangements may
be made, but it will be best to get first the collections into order. I hope you will
allow me to take temporary over here the miscellaneous things on the open stage, to
give them some decent and uniform appearance.
