Letter not found. The text given here is from a letter dated 9 May 1870 from Philip Webster to the Editor published in Inquirer and commercial news (Perth, WA), 11 May 1870, p. 3, under the heading 'Preserved dried flowers and seaweed'. The item is dated to April 1870 on the basis that a letter written by M in early May is unlikely to have reached Webster in Fremantle by 9 May. Webster's letter was also published in Herald (Fremantle), 14 May 1870, p. 3.
[Permit me to call the ladies' attention through your widely circulated journal to the very interesting employment of preserving Flowers and Seaweeds. I have just received a communication from Dr. Mueller M.D., Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, who is very anxious to obtain specimens of the above from this colony. … To use Dr. Mueller's own words, any contributions will tend to augment the material for the good work in which he is engaged.]
