Letter not found. The text given here is from a report of the meeting of the Footscray Borough Council held on 5 June 1867 (Williamstown chronicle, 8 June 1867, p. 5).
[Cr Mitchell reported that he had received about 350 trees and plants, and moved that a portion of the public gardens be cleared and trenched for the purpose of planting the same. The motion was seconded by Cr. Dallaway and carried.
On the motion of Cr. Mitchell the clerk was instructed to write Dr. Mueller thanking him for his kindness in supplying trees for the garden.]
