The text given here is from a report of the third meeting of the Public Cemetery Trustees, a trust established by Tasmania’s Cemeteries Act 1865, held on 22 May 1866, in Tasmanian morning herald ( Hobart), 23 May 1886, p. 2. At the meeting of the Trustees on 31 July the 'Chairman said he had received several large cases of plants of various kinds from Dr. Mueller for their cemetery. He had sent them to Mr. Abbott to be taken care of until next season. Dr. Mueller also promised to send any number of plants required in time for next season' (Mercury (Hobart), 1 August 1866, p. 2). [The chairman informed the meeting that he had applied to Dr Mueller, the Curator of the Botanical Gardens at Melbourne, for a supply of young trees to plant in the proposed cemetery, and particularly the "Pine Tree.”]
