Sir,
In returning the accompanying rules for the protection and management of the Royal
Park reserve,
duly signed by the Board of Land and Works, under its seal, I have the honor to point
out that the provisions of the 67th Section of the Amending Land Act, 1865, require
that such rules be published in the Government Gazette and exhibited in some conspicuous
part of the reserve.

Regulations for the protection and management of the Royal Park.
The Royal Park having been reserved as a recreation ground for the public, and for
Zoological purposes, the Board of Land and Works in pursuance of the 67th clause of
the
Amending Land Act 1865
, have made the following Rules and Regulations for the care protection and management
of the same:—
1. The gates of the Park shall be open from sunrise to sunset.
2. Persons riding in hired carriages which ply for hire, or in carts or vehicles conveying
merchandise, or used for purposes of trade shall not travel through or along any of
the roads in the Royal Park: Provided that persons employed by the Acclimatisation
Society or in connection with the Powder Magazine or the Experimental Farm, may drive
carts or drays through the Park under such conditions as the Board of Land and Works
may impose.
3. Persons shall not ride or drive on the grass, or on the footways, and each shall keep
his own side of the road as on Public Roads.
4. Persons shall not enter the Park for the purpose of breaking in horses, or training
or exercising horses, nor shall any person be permitted to drive cattle or sheep through
the Park.
5. Persons shall not climb any of the fences, nor damage the fences or trees, nor
molest any of the animals in the Park.
6. Persons shall not be permitted to bring dogs into the Park, nor shall any person
discharge firearms, or kindle any fire in the Park.
7. Persons shall not (unless and until they have obtained permission from the Trustees)
sell, or offer for sale any article of merchandise within the boundaries of the Park.

. If any person offend against any of the above Regulations he will be dealt with
under the 67th Clause of the
Amending Land Act 1865
, and all persons employed in the Park are hereby required to give information to
the nearest Bailiff of Crown Lands if any person knowingly and wilfully offend against
any of these Regulations.

M minuted: 'The Trustees of the Royal Park would feel greatly obliged if the Board
of Land & Works would be pleased to give publicity to these regulations in the Gov-Gazette'.
