[Dr. Mueller also laid before the council a letter he had recently received from Dr. Saenger, of Moscow. Some months ago Dr. Mueller wrote to this gentleman,

making inquiries as to the possibility of bringing out to Australia the ova of the sturgeon. Dr. Saenger’s reply is to the effect that he thinks it might possibly be accomplished, but only at a great risk and expense. He promises, however, to make more particular inquiries, and communicate the result at a future time.]
